First off, I must say, I LOVE WHAT I DO! These objective feeling states are just three of many positive feelings my clients described to me about their experience and state-of-mind after receiving individualized EEG Biofeedback treatments yesterday. One client, addicted to heroin for a number of years, came in newly sober and depressed. He didn’t feel part of the NA/AA community and had been struggling with urges to use, along with crippling anxiety and depressed mood. After a half hour of alpha-theta brainwave training, (his very first session and experience with neurofeeback) he left grinning from ear to ear! I asked him how he felt, “happiness” he told me.
He laughed as we made small talk about the rest of his day and had a spirit of wonder and peace. My next client came in anxious and talkative. She is an artsy, creative type who moves a mile a minute. This gets in the way of patience and has set her brain to be “high-strung.” She left my office calm, extremely relaxed, with a “peace of mind” she said she has only felt after week-long meditation retreats, and she does indeed, meditate for two hours per day as it is. . Both had an overwhelming “sense of well-being” to share with me. This morning I called to check in on them and they still feel great! Both had a great night’s sleep and my male client relays being able to interact with the world around him and engage with people he normally would hide away from. No drugs needed!
